GERYON Vacuum Sealer with 2 Sealing Modes to Help Prevent Freezer Burn

A compact vacuum sealer from GERYON (model E2900-MS) with dry and moist modes, a lid that comes off for cleaning and a starter kit of bags and a roll. It’s for people who freeze meat, fish or batch-cooked meals and want them to keep without freezer burn, and who don’t need a large countertop machine.

What the GERYON vacuum sealer does

It pulls the air out of a bag and then heat-seals it shut. With less air around the food, frozen meat and fish are far less likely to get freezer burn, and opened snacks or coffee stay fresher once resealed.

You put the open end of the bag into the clip, press the lid down until it clicks, choose the mode and press Vac Seal. When the light turns off, the bag is sealed. The listing for model E2900-MS gives these specs:

  • Two modes, dry and moist, plus seal-only for resealing bags without vacuum.
  • Takes bags and rolls up to 12 inches wide, from GERYON or other brands.
  • Upper lid that comes off for cleaning.
  • Starter kit: an air suction hose, 5 bags (7.8 × 11.8 inches) and one roll (7.8 × 78 inches).
  • 110 W, about 14.4 × 5.5 × 2.6 inches and 2.6 pounds.

Amazon now lists it in grey; this page was first published for the silver version, which is the same model.

What it does well

It’s small. At under 15 inches long it fits in a drawer, which is where most home sealers end up between uses.

The moist mode matters for marinated meat and fish, where liquid can reach the seal and spoil it. Having two modes on a compact model is useful.

The removable lid makes it easier to wipe up juice that gets drawn into the machine, a common complaint with clamp-style sealers that don’t come apart.

What to know before you buy

You need textured vacuum bags. Like every clamp-style sealer, it can only pull air through bags with an embossed channel pattern; smooth zipper bags won’t work. Budget for rolls if you seal often.

There’s no built-in bag cutter or roll storage, so you cut bags from the roll with scissors.

Soups and sauces should be frozen flat first and sealed when solid. Even on moist mode, liquid sucked toward the seal is the most common reason for a failed seal.

Small sealers need a short pause between bags to let the heat bar recover. If you process a whole deer or 30 portions in one go, a larger machine with a fan will be faster.

Who it’s for

Households that buy meat in bulk, meal-prep cooks and anyone starting with sous vide. If you only want to keep leftovers for a couple of days, airtight containers do the job without buying bags.
