Start by seasoning your chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Sear them in a skillet with olive oil over medium-high heat until golden brown on each side.
Transfer the chicken to your crockpot. Add butter to the same skillet and sauté the mushrooms and garlic until the mushrooms are tender.
Pour the Marsala wine into the skillet, allowing it to simmer for a couple of minutes, then add the chicken broth.
Pour the sauce and mushrooms over the chicken in the crockpot. Cover and cook on low for about 5 hours or until the chicken is cooked through.
